August League Updates

Congratulations to SAINTS who took out the Elite Premier Futsal Championship last week with a 6-3 victory over Exeter Quickly in the Grand Final. The boys in blue are now $1000 richer after an exhilarating game that was on a knife-edge for long periods. Well done to No Chance who won the third-place playoff, beating STGW 5-3.

In Monday Mens FL2 at Camp Hill, Dynamo Chicken Kiev hold a slender one-point advantage over The Gentlemen at the top of the table. Show Me Da Mane are in third place on 11 points, followed by Fiorentina Turner and Six Offenders who occupy fourth and fifth places respectively.

In West End’s La Macelleria Monday Mixed, league leaders GOLAZOS suffered only their second loss of the season on Monday, going down 6-7 to Woof, who held on for a surprise win. Second place Norfolk & Chance beat Boogie Boys 10-9, in a high-scoring game littered with great strikes. Untouchables and CF Dos Flamingos round out the top four places as the finals approach.

In Grill’d Tuesday FL1 Mixed, Friend in Cheeses and Paddington Pansies will battle it out for the Championship after defeating GYPSIES and We are on Fire respectively in their semi-finals.

In Grill’d Tuesday FL2, Quick Response (pictured below) were too good in their Grand Final against Damaged Goods, winning 3-0. Quick Response defended superbly throughout the match, and were deserving champions after dominating the division throughout the season.

In the early stages of the Camp Hill Tuesday Mens season, LADZIO have won three from three and top the table ahead of Gremlins and HAWKIES.

It’s Grand Final time in The Spaghetti House Wednesday Division 1 Mens league tonight, with Dr Waters Redux taking on Soton Express in what promises to be a barnstorming match. League top scorers Greg Waters (35 goals) and Stelios Prineas (29) will be hoping they can make the difference for their sides. Muy Picante will need to be at their best against favourites Underwater Squad in the Division 2 Grand Final.

And last but not least, FNQ remained undefeated throughout the regular season of Ballistic Brewing Co. Thursday Mens Futsal, and will face NQ Fury for a place in the Grand Final. UnAthletico Madrid take on Dragonball in the other semi-final.
